Forza Horizon 5’s Latest Update Includes 5 New BMWs, 2 Rivians, Corvette E-Ray, And Event Customization

With the latest installment of Forza Motorsport around the corner, Xbox Game Studios hasn’t forgotten fans of the open-world racing game, with a major update coming to Forza Horizon 5. With it, players get a further selection of cars. These include five new BMWs, spanning from 1995 to 2023, as well as Rivian’s two-car range of the R1T and R1S. The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will also make an appearance.

For those who like to create their own environments, there’s also a wholly revamped sandbox with several quality-of-life improvements, new features, and new props.

EventLab 2.0 Brings Enhanced Customization To Forza

EventLab allows players to create custom race tracks, set custom rules, and impose their own car limits. But EventLab 2.0 aims to improve the entire experience, adding a whole range of new tools to create even bigger events.

EventLab 2.0’s expanded arsenal includes all new props, such as a petrol station, petrol pumps, and giant coffee signs for all your in-game cup-of-joe needs. There are also some interesting geometric shapes shown off, but we suspect the biggest improvement is that existing props have been given more attachment nodes, allowing for easier placement and handling when letting those creative juices flow. Similarly, there’s a new snapping function, which will make aligning objects far easier.

For those who would rather not worry about placing six individual boulders in the perfect formation to provide off-track carnage, there’s a new “prefab” interface. Prefabs are multiple props that have been grouped together in a ready-made package, allowing you to quickly and easily slot them into your landscape. Users can share their own prefabs with the community and promptly grab shared ones from the creative hub.

Other benefits brought by the new rendition of EventLab include custom flyers and the ability to see what different weather and lighting conditions will look like. There’s also a new EventLab Island — a 2 km x 2 km concrete slab that allows the creation of a whole new environment on a separate part of the map.

Eight New Cars Coming To Forza Horizon 5

BMW gets top billing in the new update, with five fresh offerings from the German brand appearing in-game. On the combustion side, you can sample the 2023 BMW M2 and 2021 BMW M3 Competition from the modern era or throw it back with the timeless 1995 BMW 850CSi. AC Schnitzer will also be featured in the game, with body parts available for the BMW i7 and 2018 BMW M5.

Meanwhile, from BMW’s electric range come the 2022 BMW iX xDrive50 SUV and the 2023 BMW i4 eDrive40. They’re not the only new EVs making an appearance with the September update. Rivian is offering its R1T and R1S to players, both unlockable via the Festival Playlist in EventLab.

Finally, toeing the line between electric performance and the brute of a V8 is the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. All Forza Horizon 5 players will have access to the latest in the Vette family from October 10, but those with early access to Forza Motorsport will be able to drive it five days earlier.

The Forza devs gave us a sneak peek at October’s update, too, promising that the Horizon Festival will “turn orange” for Die de Muertos. Interestingly, a new car reveal was teased, too, with players being told that they’ll be able to drive Forza Horizon 5’s “most requested car.” Could that mean Mexico’s famed Nissan Tsuru could actually be making an appearance after all?
