The shared design elements between the new Honda Prelude concept and the 2025 Toyota Camry have sparked the creativity of independent digital artist Theophilus Chin who whipped up an interesting face-swap for Paultan. His work resulted in a captivating fusion that could readily be mistaken for a hypothetical 2025 Camry Solara coupe, despite such a model not being part of the Toyota’s future lineup

The LED headlights and grille from the 2025 Toyota Camry have been seamlessly integrated into the front section of the Honda Prelude, thanks to a few clever tweaks. This also applies to the redesigned bumper, featuring Toyota’s honeycomb pattern and a pair of taller side intakes. These modifications collectively give the resulting render a more appealing and dynamic appearance compared to the original Honda concept, thanks to the combination of sharper features and the allure of a two-door body style.

The Toyota Camry Solara was a rather forgettable two-door model based on the Camry sedan that was offered in both coupe and convertible forms. It was available in the US between 1998 and 2008 across two generations, before being discontinued without a planned successor.

In an era where mainstream (or as we affectionately call them, non-premium) coupe and convertible models might seem as rare as a unicorn wearing sunglasses, Toyota resurrecting the Solara would be like trying to make a typewriter cool again. However, if we dive deep into the realm of pure fantasy, where pigs fly and teleportation booths exist, Toyota could, in theory, save a few bucks by slapping their badge on the Honda Prelude.

The artist, who also goes by the nickname Theottle, didn’t stop with the Toyota Camry coupe but also envisioned a Honda Prelude sedan, utilizing leftover pieces from his earlier digital conversion. Admittedly, this render is less appealing, but fortunately, this niche in Honda’s lineup is already filled by the Accord.

Note: The independent renderings are off-the-record and unrelated to Honda or Toyota.
