BMW M sold more than 200,000 vehicles last year and they’re looking to continue that momentum

BMW M fans are in for some good news as the company is gearing up to introduce an assortment of new and updated models.
In a sales release, the automaker suggested it will be a busy year thanks to the “upcoming model revision” of the M2, M3, and M4. On top of that, the “new edition of the BMW M5 is in the starting blocks.”
The company didn’t have much to say about the M5, but noted the sedan will be joined by a Touring variant which will serve as a “further impetus for the conquest of new target groups.” BMW also noted EV fans can opt for the i5 M60 xDrive Touring.

Besides new models and facelifted variants, there will be new special editions. The highlight for 2024 will be the M4 CS, which “embodies pure racing passion … with increased engine power and optimized weight.” The car was spied last fall and is expected to echo the M3 CS, which has an upgraded twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six producing 543 hp (405 kW / 550 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque.
Besides talking about future products, BMW M reported record sales of more than 200,000 units. That’s a first for the performance brand as the company delivered 202,530 vehicles last year.
That’s an increase of 14.3 percent, compared to 2022, and the company noted their was strong demand for the M3, which was the “world’s best-selling high-performance sports car.” BMW also noted the popularity of the M2 and M4.
The United States was once again BMW M’s most important market, while Germany took second place. Rounding out the podium was the United Kingdom.
