Oscar Mayer has the Wienermobile, and now McDonald’s has the Burgercuda. The fast food company has unveiled a new vehicle for one of its mascots, the Hamburgler, and if you happen to spot it on the road, you might just score yourself free burgers for an entire year.

The car in question is a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that received a unique makeover, courtesy of Sean Smith Designs, a workshop known for its work on classic American automobiles. They’ve previously crafted a Roadrunner for Kevin Hart and a Dodge Charger for Fast and Furious 9, showcasing their talent in creating custom vehicles.

Its red white and black color scheme is inspired by the character who will use it as his getaway vehicle, the Hamburgler. In addition to color, it has also been modified for its job. That includes a McDonald’s badge up front, a “Robble” marking on the hood scoop (apparently inspired by the character’s catchphrase, “robble, robble”), and “Sesame Seed Bun” hubcaps.

Inside, the color scheme continues with seats that feature the Hamburgler’s prison-uniform-style black and white stripes. Its spare tire has also been modified to look like a giant cheeseburger in the trunk, and hidden under the center arm rest, the team has hidden a “burger warmer.” It’s unclear if there’s also a fire extinguisher nearby.

One of the key modifications to the car, at least from McDonald’s perspective, is the QR code displayed on the rear quarter panel. If anyone encounters the vehicle in the wild and scans the code, they can gain access to Hamburgler-themed merchandise and receive an “Arch Card” for a complimentary McDonald’s burger.

However, you don’t even need to see the car in order to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win free McDonald’s burgers for a year. The entry period ends on February 25, and the winner will be entitled to two free burgers, worth up to $8.00 per week for 52 weeks, for a total value of $823.00.

The contest and the Burgercuda have been conceived of to celebrate the introduction of a series of improvements to McDonald’s burgers. The company says that it has made its buns fluffier, is adding onions to its patties while they cook to caramelize them, and adding more sauce to the Big Mac, among other changes.
