The carmaker has not yet said when its future BST models will launch but they should follow a similar recipe to the Polestar 2 BST

Fans of the Polestar brand will be pleased to know that the Swedish carmaker will release more performance-focused BST models, following the path laid out by the limited-run BST Edition 270 and BST Edition 230 versions of the Polestar 2.
Polestar chief executive Thomas Ingenlath considers Polestar as a direct rival to the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche, but it also has to worry about vehicles from South Korea, including those from Genesis. Earlier this week, Genesis launched a new performance arm for its EVs dubbed Magma. Magma will focus on lifting the performance of the brand’s EVs and has started with upgraded versions of the GV60 and G80, both presented as concepts.
Motor1 recently had the opportunity to speak with Ingenlath at the New York International Auto Show. Ingenlath confirmed that most BST models are on the cards, although he didn’t specify which models will get the BST treatment. Likely candidates include the Polestar 3 and 4, but we don’t expect to see them this year.
The brand’s BST models come from the Polestar Engineered division, featuring several upgrades to improve handling, braking, and track performance. The two models also come with some unique styling details to make them stand out from lesser versions.

Interestingly, the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 and Edition 230 did not benefit from significant powertrain improvements. Indeed, both models produce 469 hp and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque, only a little more than the 455 hp available in the standard model with the optional Performance Package.
The most significant changes include new Ohlins 2-way adjustable dampers, a revised front strut bar, 20% stiffer springs, and 21-inch forged allow wheels with bespoke Pirelli P Zero tires. Polestar also beefed up the brakes of the two models.
