The CLA EV is expected to help Mercedes steal customers away from Tesla

Mercedes held its North American dealer meeting last week and Automotive News is reporting attendees were shown a total of eight different vehicles.
While a number of them have already been presented to the public, the automaker apparently introduced the electric CLA. The model will reportedly arrive in the United States next year and have approximately 400 miles (644 km) of range.
Little else is known about the car at this point, but insiders told the publication the electric CLA is larger and sleeker than its ICE-powered counterpart. Automotive News also implied it was referred to as a CLA and not an EQ model, which could suggest the automaker will ditch the moniker in the near future.

While a number of questions remain, one dealer described the car as a “conquest vehicle for the EV age.” They went on to say it will attempt to steal customers from Tesla.
An electric GLC is also slated to arrive next year as a successor to the EQC. It will reportedly have more curvaceous styling than its ICE-powered counterpart as well as a range of around 300 miles (483 km).

Besides cars and crossovers, Mercedes focused on commercial vehicles and Automotive News said the electric Sprinter will come to America later this year. It will reportedly be followed by a “luxury midsize passenger van” and a “range of electric RVs.” The company also showed the Sustaineer concept, which will apparently spawn a production model in 2025 with 275 miles (443 km) of range.
