Rivian has came out on top of the latest Consumer Reports’ owner satisfaction survey that asked owners about which brand was the most satisfying to own. Over 85% of Rivian owners say they’d buy another model from the same brand. The remainder of the list has some tried and true winners and at least one or two surprise brands as well.

The rankings come down to how many owners said that they’d buy the same brand again. Rivian led the field with 86% of owners who responded “definitely yes” to that question. It also happened to be one of the most satisfying when it came to values like comfort, driving, ownership cost, and cabin storage.

MINI managed to snag second place, with 77% of owners saying that they’d buy another MINI. BMW and Porsche tied for third with 76% each, and Tesla took home fifth place with a score of 74%. BMW, Porsche, and Tesla all tend to do well in this annual survey but MINI jumped up from 11th place last year to take home silver this year.

Love It Or Hate It? Rivian Tops, Infiniti Flops In CR’s Owner Satisfaction Study

Genesis and Lexus tied for sixth place at 73%, Subaru snuck into the top ten with 70% for eighth, and RAM tied Honda, Chevrolet, and Toyota for ninth at 69%. Most brands scored somewhere between 60 and 69%. Infiniti was the only brand where the majority of customers said they were dissatisfied. It scored 49% in last place. Volkswagen just barely beat it with a score of 51%.

Typically, it appears that the more one spends on a car, the more likely they are to be satisfied by it. Mercedes-Benz and Audi bucked that trend though scoring only a 59% satisfaction rating among survey respondents.

Consumer Reports rightly points out that this study doesn’t actually indicate the quality of the cars in question. It simply tells us how well a car brand meets customer expectations. “The most satisfying cars aren’t necessarily the best on the market, and vice versa,” it says.
